“The wireless industry is positively changing the way Americans live, work, and play, and as we have all seen in the recent campaign, the technology is playing an increasingly important role in the way all Americans can be engaged in the political process,” said CTIA President and CEO Steve Largent, in a statement. He added that the wireless communications industry stands ready to support the new administration in days ahead. ITAA’s President and Chief Executive Phillip Bond wrote in a letter to the president-elect that “new ideas and new technologies can reinvigorate all sectors of the U.S. economy and generate new jobs for the American people.” Bond lauded Obama’s recognition of the significant effects improved education and immigration reform would have on the technology industry in the global economy, and noted the role innovation will continue to have on U.S. national security. “Our country must be capable of defending itself in cyberspace and the battle space with cutting-edge technology solutions,” he said. |
